学习笔记-4月14日

(2008-4-14)It has certainly been a wild year since the last time we did this event. Last night at the cocktail party I was talking to a number of folks about observation on the economy and how wildly that has changed. Certainly in the information technology business there has been ongoing fervor, positive and negative, about e-commerce and e-business, about IT and capital spending. IT is over 50 percent of the capital spending now with businesses in the United States. And as capital spending has certainly suffered over the last year, a lot of discussion about what’s going on that front. And certainly also a lot of continuing discussion about how to make employee populations more effective and essentially more empowered to make right decisions by putting information in front of people, right time, right place, etcetera.

We’re going to have a chance to hear from Bill Gates about that and then have a chance to share some communal thoughts. We have a number of panels in which attendees will share some of their experiences and thoughts on a wide variety of these issues.
